Designing Reusable Component
At Meredith Corporation I was put in charge of setting up a prototyping design system that had reusable components that could be shared between all of Meredith’s magazine brands (Allrecipes, Shape, People, Magnolia, Parents, etc.). Using a custom prototype templating system I created, I designed stand-alone components that could be shared across different brands. All they had to do was swap out the assets and content with their own variations.
Another bonus was I designed these components to use container queries - meaning they knew their own size. So, no matter what grid, sidebar, or column you drop them into, they automatically resize themselves to fit appropriately.
